While I'm a country boy in the sense that I loved it when Cocoa was a small village;
it's just been too good to keep a secret. Many people have come with the beginning of the
Cape Canaveral <Kennedy Space Center>: Great climate and great people. Florida was
rough; mosquitoes, swamps, reptiles and Indians not too inviting, so the stock of people
are hearty adventurous pioneers who have a sense of humor<you can't make it without
it>. We don't take ourselves too seriously and rely heavily on each other's dignity and
integrity. We are an independent sort; who want to live life simply and enjoy the moment..
The opportunity to "get rich" has attracted a few carpetbaggers, developers and
jokers who don't care for anything else but money; you can spot them easy: they never have
enough and never can mind their own business. Some good things are happening here, and one
of them is the revitalization and interest in our little old downtown area they call the
"Village" now. When the changes came, chain stores came with them to the
"Shopping Malls" outside of town. Now there's a new thing with little shops
eagerly seeking space in the "village". It is fun for old-timers and visitors
alike, a little link with the past, providing a meeting place and a focus for an otherwise
fragmented community. Dont miss the opportunity to visit the web sites below: they
are pretty cool!
